The Rep. Giffords tragedy was an eye-opener for a lot of people over the past week. However, oddly enough, the primary epiphany had really nothing to do with the shooter because crazy people do crazy things. We know that.
Instead, the average citizen found out just how blindly, bizarrely and desperately partisan the Mainstream Media and their liberal acolytes are. Sure, Dan Rather’s forged memos were a wake-up call in 2004, but then again Dan’s fabrications were only meant to bring Bush down. The Giffords shooting was different. Not only were Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews and a bevy of liberal twitter feeds and blogs linking Sarah Palin to the grisly affair—they linked the entire Tea Party movement to the horrors (with no evidence whatsoever)!
Anyone whose read this blog knows that I see My Chemical Romance’s new album as worthy of conservatives’ embrace, so I’ll give some advice on “toning down the rhetoric” in the terms of lyrics to the song Sing It!
Sing it for the boys, sing it for the girls
Every time that you lose it sing it for the world
Sing it from the heart
Sing it till you’re nuts
Sing it out for the ones that’ll hate your guts
Sing it for the deaf
Sing it for the blind
Sing about everyone that you left behind
Sing it for the world, sing it for the world
Sing it out
Boy they’re gonna sell what tomorrow means
Sing it out
Girl they’re gonna kill what tomorrow brings
You’ve got to, make a choice if the music drowns you out
Raise your voice every single time they try and shut your mouth
Since I’m sure critics will point to the “sing it till your nuts” line to hit below the belt, I’ll preempt your Olbermannesque urge to do so: I’m operating under the premise that it’s better to sing the truth and go nuts (non-violently, of course) than to shut up and say nothing when bullied by lies.
There was a concerted effort made to delegitimize the Tea Party in one fell swoop last weekend. While the haze and the confusion and the sadness of a national tragedy sat like a heavy fog over the nation, sick liberal pundits sought to implant an idea into your head—Inception style—that the “rhetoric” of the Tea Party was behind it all. And like amateur Leonardo DiCaprios botching the job, the American people soon knew that something was not right with the reality presented. Communist Manifesto reading, pot smoking, 9/11 Truther-loners who make jokes about abortions and suicide bombers before burning the American flag are not ready-made Sarah Palin Tea Party members…
Liberalism presumes you’re an idiot, and the cable news coverage in the wake of the Giffords shooting is a textbook example of that. It’s insulting enough that Nanny State bureaucrats already think you’re too dumb to decide what food you eat, what health care plan is best for you and your family, or how and when you should defend them from thugs and lowlifes. Now the media goons think you’re so morally bankrupt that you’d hold millions of your fellow Americans culpable for the murder of a nine year old girl, a federal judge, and other innocent civilians with zero—ZERO—evidence indicating that was the case.
The call for “toned down rhetoric” is really a call for self-censorship. 14 trillion dollar deficits are losing. Unconstitutional healthcare mandates are losing. Conservatism is winning, and the only way to slow it down is if you allow yourself to be bullied into silence. Don’t. If anything, speak louder—or, like I said earlier, “sing it out for the ones who hate your guts.” Your kids and grandkids will thank you.
