If you ever wanted to hang out and just chat with your friendly neighborhood blogger, then perhaps you’d like to check out today’s impromptu discussion I had with a fellow YouTuber. I’m always up for talking comic books and politics, so when I was asked by Capt. Cummings there was no way I was going to say no.

If you’re not a fan of this blog or my YouTube channel, then I have bad news for you: I plan on doing more YouTube chats in the years to come.

Anyway, feel free to tune in and add your two cents on the Captain’s YouTube channel or the in the comments section below.

  1. Thanks, I enjoyed that. It’s kind of fun to see people just have a conversation. The pundits on tv are shrieking, bashing people over the head and it’s boring. I like what you said about bashing people over the head with racism accusations…until they become defiantly racist. Fake news too, once everything is fake, nothing is.

Thanks, Insanitybytes. I can’t watch cable news anymore unless I’m required to do so for work. Other than that, I’d rather just watch YouTube videos with people I respect.

  2. Cool video Doug, really enjoyed the conversation between you and Capt Cummings. Looking forward to more of these. Do you need a shave? just kidding 😛

BTW, I’ve been working on a short sci-fi film with an old work colleague. The film is his pet project and it’s in post production at the moment. He’s hoping to enter it into a few film festivals around the globe.

Just wondering if you’ll be up to give it exposure on your blog with a brutally honest review?

Thanks. Yeah, this one was pretty much off the cuff. There weren’t really any planned questions and it was just a free-flowing conversation. I was the guest, so I tried my best to leave openings for him to take the conversation in whatever direction he wanted. Getting that first one out of the way is always awkward because you’re sort of feeling out the other person’s style.

Nice to hear! In terms of giving you feedback privately, I can definitely do that. I have politely declined similar requests by friends or acquaintances in the past because it’s a slippery slope to go down. On top of that, it gets dicey for me if its connected to someone I like — such as yourself. I’d feel incredibly awkward if I hated your friend’s project and then wrote a piece on it.

I sort of think of it like Carl releasing his book down the line. When I know it’s out there, then I’ll buy it. There is no doubt about it. But…I can’t say if I’ll review it on my blog. I’d have to figure out if I could do it in a way that was both appropriate and fair.

I’m sorry for the long-winded response. That’s just a tough topic for me to address. Like I said, I’ve had others make similar requests off the grid.
