Cloud Pillow

Regular readers of douglasernstblog.com know that I typically cover the intersection of politics and popular culture. However, sometimes I veer off in strange and unexpected directions. Today is one of those days. Since I care about my readers, I wanted to share with all of you an amazing product that is expensive, but worth every penny.

I recently moved from my tiny cardboard box in Maryland to a nice little apartment in Northern New Jersey. Part of the move meant buying my wife and I a new bed, but also some pillows — the TEMPUR-Cloud Pillow, to be exact. Yes, it will cost you $130, but if you’re like me — someone who will sleep nearly 1/3 of his life — then I highly suggest it. Coupled with my new Tempur-Pedic bed, I’ve had better sleep in one week than I have had in four years.

If you’re like me, you’ve spent countless nights tossing and turning just trying to get comfortable. If your goal in life is to be the best that you can be, then you owe it to yourself to get a good night’s sleep. When you’re rested, you perform better. When you perform better, it builds confidence. When you’re confident, it shows — and those around you will treat you differently. It’s just one of many positive feedback loops in your life that you have complete control over.

Some of you might be asking, “Doug, why didn’t you get a TEMPUR-Cloud Pillow earlier?” Good question. I think part of it has to deal with my military past. After spending days and weeks and months sleeping on the ground, sometimes in freezing puddles of water or covered in earwigs, I’ve always taken a bit of pride in knowing that I can sleep on basically any surface. I’ve always known that getting a good night’s rest was important, but it’s only been recently that I began taking the time I spend dreaming just as seriously as my waking state. Due to some very interesting experiences through meditation and lucid dreaming, sleep has taken on a whole new level of importance.

I’d be happy to expand on the awesomeness of this product in the comments section, but long story short: save the cash, do yourself a favor and get one.

To show my regular readers how much I believe in this product, I’ve decided to buy one for someone who can use it. Carl, who has been busy working on a book, will be the recipient of a TEMPUR-Cloud Pillow from yours truly, provided he wants it. It’s easier to write a great book when you’re rested, buddy. Carl, let me know if you want it and I will reach out to you via the email address that shows up on the back end of WordPress. I’ll get your mailing address and have one shipped out to you in the near future.

Just don’t become a Daysleeper if you can avoid it.

    1. I’ve heard about sleep number beds for awhile, and apparently many people love them, but I think for me the memory foam of the Tempur-Pedic is key. I sleep on my side and the memory foam just sort of hugs my shoulder. In the past I would wake up in the middle of the night and my entire shoulder would be asleep (no pun intended). I’d have to switch to my other side. With the new bed I’ve been able to sleep on my shoulder all night with no problems. It’s amazing!

    2. Good to know, my wife and I are looking into getting a new mattress and we are considering some new options. I will tell her about this pillow as well. As we have been getting more seasoned we have been finding the need to be more picky with our sleeping arrangements.

    3. I really appreciate the offer, but I actually got new bedding just recently, along with new pillows. 😉 I’ve been sleeping like a baby since. But I’ll let you know if I change my mind.
